True Success Depends on Your Identity!

Rev Jenine MarieDo you ever feel like you climb up three rungs on a ladder in life only to be slapped down at least four of them? Life can be a continual challenge of endurance and trying to get up new strength. As I was pondering what my next message might be, I thought of so many victories God has given to me that I could testify about. Those are not the things He wants to discuss right now. I felt like His heart so wanted to draw people to understand how they can be victorious, not just read or hear about my testimony. I know any testimony of God’s goodness would edify your faith, but I am also sure that God has a message for you so that you can understand how those victories can be yours as well. There is definite power in the “knowing”.

I love God’s goodness, and His loving care for me when I am down and out. He has a way of speaking that no one can describe. You have to experience it for yourself. I remember a time when I felt so beaten down and tired of always trying to get up the strength to climb that ladder just “one more time”.  A person can become so exhausted just in the trying let alone the climbing. This one particular time I was sitting up in a ball with my arms wrapped around my knees, very frustrated. I don’t know about you, but when I get frustrated and talk to God I pretty much tell Him like it is. So I sat there alone, crying , and told Him, “Life sometimes just really sucks”! I mean, He knows my heart anyway, so why clean it up for Him? Besides, when life is really putting us through a ringer, we really don’t feel like standing on ceremony or being politically correct with God, now do we? (I found myself wishing I had brought a tissue with me. One of my other things with God is I let myself cry because He also knows the pain I feel. The Bible states that He actually counts my tears. They are very important in the human healing process). So there I was crying, and suddenly God spoke to my heart a very profound thing! He said to me very clearly, “You forget that life is not about who you are but about “whose” you are”.

I realized right then the error of my struggle. You see, when life is about who you are, you are always struggling to get from a lower level to a higher one. (That ladder now comes back into view here). Life will always be about, “I am trying so hard to get somewhere in life and something, or someone, always slaps me down”. This, my dear, is the highway to feeling like a failure and that is not what we are in God’s eyes or in reality. When life is about who you are it becomes a competition and someone will always seem like they are making out better, especially when life has become hard. God sees our journey as a race, but not one where we are racing alone or in competition with others. In contrast, when life becomes about “whose” you are, the power of success and stability is placed right at the throne where Jesus sits. When we see life through the eyes as someone who belongs to the Savior of the world then there is no way we can ever fail even when life is not going well in our own view. There is no climb this way because we already sit in high places with a King! Actually it is only a matter of humility. It’s about taking the focus off ourselves as the powerful one and putting it on the One who truly is the all powerful one. Humility is a very amazing thing. It never strips us of our dignity or our accomplishments but it places them in a realm where they are much more miraculous than if we were to do things only on our own.

Knowing whose you are through the journey will always keep you looking at the miraculous while seeing yourself sitting in high places. You will also seek the lessons in life when things don’t seem to go as you planned. Sometimes life happens a certain way to reveal something we need to see that will more benefit us in the long run.

An affirming statement for you!

“I see myself sitting in the high place with the Savior of the world. There is nothing I can do that will ever be considered a failure. I need not climb in my own strength because I have miraculous help from that throne. When it appears I have failed, I will not accept this as truth. I will look for the lesson and the blessing that comes in other directions. Life is about my journey and God sees it as a success. I am an overcomer because I belong to a King. I have wisdom that comes from above and I accept that wisdom in all decisions I make along the way. I thank Jesus for being there for me and taking away the burden of always striving and I accept His peace and rest for my journey ahead”.

Do NOT Eat These If You Have a Struggling Thyroid Gland

thyroid-glandMost of the time when I do research for good healthy habits I am searching for foods and things I should be taking in. I’ve discovered that sometimes I need to take a look at foods to avoid. I was kind of shocked when I discovered there are foods a person would need to avoid for the purpose of keeping the thyroid healthy. The thyroid is that butterfly looking gland that is right below the Adam’s apple in the neck. Having a troubled thyroid can really mess with a person’s health and sense of well being. The thyroid regulates calcium and also how tissues use proteins. Keeping the thyroid healthy will keep your body working and serving you well.

**Some foods to avoid if you struggle with thyroid issues.

Let me begin with some of the foods NOT to eat if you struggle with thyroid issues or you are concerned about keeping a healthy thyroid.

Cruciferous vegetables – such as cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts (cooking reduces the effects on the thyroid. Cruciferous means “cross bearing” because of the shape of the leaves when growing).

Pine Nuts, Peanuts –  Can block the absorption of iodine

If you are on thyroid medications-These can be used but after a period if medication has been taken. They do not have to be avoided all together.

Soy and soy products– these can block the absorption of iodine

Also walnuts and some fibrous foods can block absorption of thyroid medications

I think knowing about things that help us to be more healthy is a gift to ourselves and to others who know us. The body is God’s Holy Spirit temple and to keep it in good working condition is a holy thing to do.

Let me pray for you!

Dear Holy Father, I ask that You give wisdom to those who are seeking to take better care of their bodies. For those who have not, I ask for a revelation of Your desire for them to be in the best shape of their lives. Bless each one with a powerful health emotionally, mentally, soulfully, and spiritually. Together we give You praise, and we worship You in Spirit and in truth with our minds, our emotions, our spirits, and bodies. Baptize each reader with a greater revelation of You and the love You give. In Jesus’ powerful and mighty name and heart, amen!

Healthfully Yours,

Is Caffeine Making You Feel Sick?

Avoid-Caffeinated-BeveragesThere are times when I often thought there can be nothing better than the first cup of coffee in the morning. There is a sense of “ahhhh” that some how takes place with it. I always looked forward to that morning moment with God and a good cup of coffee with stevia and some low fat creamer. I think it has been an addiction of mine since I was 15 years old. The strange thing is, I never really completely liked the taste of coffee. It seems to just be that first cup that is so mesmerizing but the following ones never ever tasted as good. Of course there is that idea in our heads that we need a good cup of coffee in the morning to get us started. The honest to goodness truth is that our bodies know how to get started without it. It was not until recently that I started to explore the adverse effects of the caffeine in a cup of coffee. Once I read enough about it, I was convinced that the consumption of just one cup of coffee per day was enough to mess up my already struggling metabolism. I came to a point where I was absolutely exhausted inside and out. The fear of what was happening led me to explore a lot of different things that could be effecting my health. Coffee and caffeine was just one of them.

Caffeine can be found in coffee, tea, chocolate, soda drinks, diet aides, and sometimes even pain relief medicines for things such as headaches. (The strange paradox here is the caffeine induced headache)! I’m not real sure why I seem to be more sensitive to it than others but I know I am in that group of caffeine sensitive people. Honestly, after reading how it effects our bodies, I am leaning on the side of cutting it out as much as possible even if I were not sensitive to it.

Here is what happens when a person takes in caffeine:

Caffeine immediately causes brain cells to fire faster and this stimulates the fight or flight reaction in the body by telling the adrenal glands to kick in some energy that is needed to keep the body moving. The adrenal glands then release a hormone called cortisol. This hormone regulates all of the other hormones in the body such as estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone. Caffeine “tells” the brain that the body is under stress so the adrenal glands will produce more cortisol to be released. Cortisol triggers the blood pressure and heart rate to rise in preparation for whatever is stressing the body. The problem with this is the adrenal glands are continually in a state of emergency to supply the body and it causes adrenal burnout, anxiety, depression, and unwanted weight gain. Caffeine effects the sleep cycle and also causes the liver to release glucose thinking that the body needs more energy to deal with stress or activity. This makes blood sugar levels spike higher suddenly and then drop to a sudden low. Bottom line, the excess cortisol can make a person gain weight, become more anxious, and experience blood sugar high and lows that are real hard on the bodies system. Caffeine Effects on the Adrenal Function

Tell me: Are you truthfully enjoying that roller coaster?

If you are trying to lose weight consider this: Using caffeine and stimulants for dieting does NOT help you in the long run. Those spiky energy drinks might feel like they give you a boost but in the long run you are ruining your adrenal function. This can actually make you gain weight instead! Nothing is as effective as good old fashioned exercise and a proper diet. Please remember this!

For me this was all a huge eye opener. It sure put a change in my “coffee in the morning” routine. I also stopped drinking tea that has caffeine and eating too much chocolate. I certainly have felt better because of it. (Green tea extract also spikes the heart rate and blood pressure too!) Just a bit of a warning here though. If you think you want to stop consuming anything with caffeine, please figure a way to do this slowly if you consume it often! Caffeine withdrawal can cause the most horrible headache, not to mention other symptoms. I think the headache is the worse part though!

You can make your own choice; I had to. My choice was to feel better because I was struggling with my health. Weigh in all of the positives and negatives about using things with caffeine and make that decision wisely. I guarantee that your body does not need it and will function well without it, including waking up in the morning. You might even wake up feeling more energized because now your adrenals are working better and not over exhausting themselves.

If you want to stop consuming caffeinated things you might even struggle with the emotional attachment to the beverage or food item or you might even struggle with the habit you have created when you consume them!

Let me pray for you for release!

Father God, I lift up this reader and ask that You give wisdom and strength in order to take the first steps to release them from caffeine use. I call out against the addictive influence in Jesus’ name and state “You must leave now”! Please give Your child peace in this decision and grant full restoration of health from any adverse effects that caffeine has created. As always, we love You Father for the wonderful delivering God that You are! Amen.

Thank you for letting me pray for you!

The Magic of Magnesium

428420_384456001663077_62980852_nIn my latest quest to feel better after a period of illness, I have discovered the massive health benefits and needs of magnesium. I had been having horrible migraine like headaches, muscle weakness, and loss of good sleep. Along with these, constipation and horrible heart palpitations as well. Strangely these symptoms and more can be an indication that there is a magnesium deficiency. This very important element is involved with over 300 bodily processes and is much needed for the absorption of many other vitamins and minerals. Magnesium is involved with the nerves, muscles, and bones. Every area of the body needs it for good health and function. Who knew? If you have not studied nutrition you might have missed this important element. I recall those good health and nutrition classes in high school we always had to take but never had I ever learned the benefits of some vital minerals and vitamins for good body function. When the body breaks down and one becomes ill, believe me, we have to study beyond the usual visual aide of all of the essential food groups. Taking care of our body is the most important thing we can do for ourselves and others. It is the temple of God’s Holy Spirit and our very soul depends upon it functioning well.

“Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself(1 Cor 6:19)

Magnesium can help heal a lot of things we struggle with including depression, anxiety, heart issues, muscle aches and twitches, bowel problems, bone issues, and more! Why in the world would we not be aware of something so important to our lives and good health?

Ok, so here is the scoop on how to get more magnesium into your life. Include a lot of these very essential foods, to name just a few,  for good health benefits:

Green leafy vegetables

Brown rice and quinoa

(You can find a better list in the article link below: “Top 10 High Magnesium Foods”.

Pregnant women especially need magnesium so it is always included in pregnancy multiple vitamins, along with iron and proper amounts of calcium.

“Every organ in the body, especially the heart, muscles, and kidneys, needs magnesium. This mineral also contributes to the makeup of teeth and bones. Magnesium activates enzymes, contributes to energy production, and helps regulate levels of calcium, copper, zinc, potassium, vitamin D, and other important nutrients in the body” Magnesium: University of Maryland Medical Center.

I had written a previous article on the health benefits of coconut oil, especially with bowel issues or constipation Health Benefits of Coconut Oil .  Magnesium also helps with these issues as well.

You are only given one body. The greatest gift you can give yourself and others is to take good care of it and help others to the same! Cheers to good eating and good nutrition!

I hope this has helped you in some way!

Motion Births Momentum! Give This a Try!

create-momentum-550x265A stationary object remains at rest until you apply a force to it. Newton’s Laws of Motion

Let’s talk about getting life in gear. Can we do this? Have you ever felt stuck and wondered how on earth you will ever make some new changes? I hate to have to break this one to you but, you can not stay the same and make changes. It just is not possible. Don’t you wish it were possible though? In the world of Isaac Newton, the discoverer of the laws of motion, nothing can come out of its rest until some form of force is applied to it. This law is a fixed and standard one of science. If you want change, you won’t get it sitting still. You have to get off your bottom line and apply some force to life. I know it’s not always that easy, but the reality is if we don’t do the forcing we also have a God who loves us enough to create some, “ah hem”, force to our lives. To help us out on this God gives us a visual!

“Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise” (Proverbs 6:6).

There is none so productive than the busy little ant. From what I understand, ants not only are busy but they often have  to carry things and move things while in motion. Well, well, doesn’t this make it harder to use an excuse when God gives us a tiny little ant as an example? I know we carry heavy loads in our lives. God knows this too! But He would not have given us this visual if He did not think we were capable. He never gives us more than we can bear. So if we have it going on, He must believe that we can not only carry it, move it, but also accelerate with it. All it takes is a little force, a little push, a little step. According to the laws of motion this puts things into action and will always gain momentum. Momentum actually means “force in motion”. It will not fail. All it takes is the decision to make it happen! Sounds easy when I say it doesn’t it? Believe me, I know that sometimes there seems to be a force that is always against us and in all honesty, there is. There will always be resistance. Without it, we don’t learn to push harder and we don’t grow stronger. Trust me, as hard as it might seem, it’s a pretty good deal. After all, we can always consider the alternative.

“The soul of the lazy man desires and has nothing; but the soul of the diligent shall be made rich” (Proverbs 13:4 KJV).

We always have been given a choice. We can choose to remain lazy. Or, we can choose to be diligent and be rich in our soul and life. Notice there is one word that stands out in the proverb above and that word is “desire”. A lazy person does not even have a desire. This makes me think that if a person wants and desires something bad enough then that is enough to make a move on it. Desire can be very powerful in getting us to put some force into motion. It does not even have to be a lot of force to get something moving from nothing, but once you do; look out!

Any motion creates that much desired momentum. You have a standard scientific law to make sure that happens. Our God has created things to be this way and He created these standards to be faithful ones. They will not fail and neither will you, as long as you remember “desire” and “motion”. Will you make some mistakes? Absolutely you will. But you will never fail in the concept. Many people fail in the beginning, become discouraged, depressed, and confused. This is all normal. Keep on pushing. Keep on moving. This is the answer. Keep on trusting in the powerful God who made it possible for you to achieve your dreams! Let me pray this blessing with you!

State this one for yourself:

Father God, Right now at this moment desire is being birthed and force created. The very moment this desire happens is the moment I will receive a will to push things into action. I know and trust that momentum will be created because Your universe has been created as one which is faithful and standard. I will not fail.

My prayer for you:

Dear Lord, Everyone who understands this concept and places it into motion shall accomplish much. I pray that laziness will leave and momentum will be created through desire and motion. Blessing upon those who understand Your ways and put them into action, in Jesus name and heart, amen!

Sincerely Yours,

Keep Your Well Clean: Choosing Empowering People!

I’d like to start of this post by asking you an important question. “How many years do you photo 3 (4)have in this life”? I know it’s an unfair question because obviously none of us really know the answer. We can assume we know but we really don’t. Alright, how about a more fair question? “How much of your time on this earth are you willing to waste”? This is a question answered according to personal choice. Most people would answer “none”. Although, we do waste time sometimes here on earth, don’t we? Since this post is about choosing empowering people in our lives, you can see why I asked that question. I had to set the tone for the importance of this subject. None of us really want to waste any precious moments on energy draining associations. Life is important and your success is important, isn’t it?

This is what the Bible says about giving in to the wrong type of people in life:

Proverbs 25:26The Message (MSG)

26 “A good person who gives in to a bad person
is a muddied spring, a polluted well”.

Now you know why part of my title is about keeping your well clean. This one is real cut and dry, so I am not sure why we tend to choose to stay around those who are not good for us. Our lives are way too important and our time is way too precious to waste around those who do not empower us but bring us downward.

Here are some examples of empowering people. Maybe you can come up with a few of your own as well. Empowering people are those who:

Want the best for you whether you are doing well or not.

Want the best for you whether you are friends or not.

Will edify you to stay strong in the right things and in the right ways.

Will honor what you pursue and will honor your life lessons.

Will keep your struggles confidential when you need a lift or to be strengthened.

Will honor your faith, beliefs, and pursuits, knowing that your life choices are your own.

Will speak the truth to you even when it is hard to hear because they want the best for you.

Will empower you in relationship with them instead of bring your life downward.

Will celebrate your successes with true joy and admiration.

Will energetically support you and not drain you.

Will honestly and thoughtfully pray for your life and for good things to come for you.

Will not undermine you or the relationship connections that are a part of you by spreading gossip, drama, or create havoc in your life.

If you have people in your life who embody these things, do not let them go! If there are those who fall very short of these things, well, you read the proverb. It is really best to let them go. Of course, people can be redeemed. We forgive them. If they truly have changed then there is no reason not to empower them with your forgiving friendship, but if they have not changed, the only thing to do is let them go.  We should trust people, but I want you to be wise as to whom you do choose to trust. Not everyone in this world is worthy of the trust you give to them. Yes, it is very sad, but it is the truth. Since I want to be an empowering person for you, let me offer you this prayer:

Father God, I will not waste time in my life by allowing those into it who disempower me. I only draw toward me those who will be supportive of an empowered life. I know “if two can not agree they can not walk together”, so therefore, I have only those in my life who agree to be supportive of my life’s choices and who value me as a person. In Jesus’ powerful name and heart. amen!

(Dedicated to those who uplift me, empower me, love me, and want the best for me. Thank you for being respectful of my precious time, breath, and life. )

Empoweringly, (Is that a word? LOL )

So, How Do You Turn Your Life Around?

God-creating-the-galaxy-via-ShutterstockFrom the very beginning of time, God created! Our fabulous, amazing, and miraculous universe was created with God’s imagination and His spoken words. Honestly, I don’t think that the mere words on paper to describe this spectacular event is even enough to get a grasp of it’s power. Our God is not only loving but powerful!.

Through the acts of Christ, we have received God’s mighty loving and powerful Spirit who dwells in us and can work through us all. The only thing that limits us is our lack of belief that it is true. Belief is a powerful thing, amen? So, I suppose then we can also conclude that our conscious belief is powerful enough to create as a partner with God from the inside out. If He lives in us, then we can believe in his ability to transform not only our insides but also our outer life. Isn’t that what He wants for us? He has told us that His greatest desire above all else is for us to prosper, to have a future, and to have hope. Jesus Himself told His disciples, and us, that we will do greater things than even He had shown us.

Conscious creation is not exactly a new thing because spiritualists have been doing it for the longest time. The only problem I have seen with it is the tendency to leave Jesus out of it. This is unfortunate because He is our Savior and “the way”. Jesus is God, and the Biblical account of His human existence is so valuable in learning how to live our own lives  for the betterment of humanity.

We have seen that the spoken word is powerful! God tells us to dwell on His word because to do so will create the wonderful life He wants to give to us! His word is life!

Therefore, in knowing that what we dwell on and what we speak, creates life, then why not use this knowledge to create the best life ever? After all, the greatest Creator ever lives within us, is working in is, is creating in us, and can speak through us as well! Why not speak the very best, dwell on the very best, and live the very best life we can? Who would want it any other way?  Think of this; our house where we live is called “our dwelling”. Our created life comes from the God who lives inside of us and outside of us. When we dwell in that living water of love, power, beauty, and joy, then that is the life we live in. Is life hard at times? Oh my gosh, yes! But can we turn it around and make it better no matter what the outside life throws at us? You bet!

Let’s try it today:

Father, I know You live in me, and that You create good things inside of me and outside of me. Your nature is goodness and love, so therefore my nature is goodness and love as well. All that is needed is that I believe in You, Your nature, Your love and in the Salvation Jesus came to show me. I will dwell in goodness and therefore goodness and mercy will be mine now and the rest of my life, In Jesus’ powerful name, heart, and Spirit, amen!

Does that feel real great to you? If so, then maybe this can be the practice that pulls you through those hard times. Meditate on God’s word. His power will be with you to create and to succeed in the good things He wants for you!

Creatively Yours,

Pastor Jenine Marie Howry

Health Benefits of Coconut Oil

coconut_oilOne of the most significant ways a woman can empower herself is to remain healthy. Working on a healthy lifestyle is an every day thing from the beginning of life through the rest of our lives. We can be as empowering as possible but if we don’t guard our health what good is it? Part of living an empowered life is to live a healthy one.

One of the most beneficial things I have found to add to my own daily diet is coconut oil! After having gone through at least a year of struggling with health issues, I have been led down the path of researching things that would help me to feel better, have more energy, become sick less, and to improve body function. I discovered a good well oiled body on the inside makes it function better and to remain healthier.

Coconut oil has been an amazing discovery for me! I am talking about the kind that is virgin organic oil made for cooking and ingesting. (There are other forms of coconut oil which are used externally. To find the right one, please consult the label and make sure it says virgin organic and suitable for cooking). I discovered its value while researching what would be the best solution for resolving constipation and also to cleanse out bacterial invasions. I had gone through at least 2 recent 10 week rounds of antibiotics and also a steroid to help inflammation of my sinus area. For the last year I have had to be on antibiotics at least 5 times. Believe me, that is 5 times more than usual. I basically never had become this sick this often. I don’t think I had ever become so frustration in my life.

I read many articles on the benefits of coconut oil and discovered it has many! Not only is it a natural antibiotic, but it is a much needed saturated fat. Unlike many myths, saturated fats do not automatically clog our arteries. In fact, there are 3 major things we always need  for proper elimination. They are water, fiber, and fat! If we don’t have those 3 things regularly in our diets we become clogged and toxins stay in our bodies. Your body was created to consume food that gives it nutrients and then it moves on through it and out. When this does not happen you can become very ill from the build up of toxins and waste from the food you eat. Some ill effects can be weakness, headaches, infections, etc.

Everyone is different, but I have found that 1-2 tablespoons of virgin organic coconut oil per day is enough to flush things through properly. Of course, we can’t forget the water and fiber. I had to experiment to discover the right amount for me. I ingest 1 tablespoon at breakfast in a protein shake and then 1 tablespoon at night in another type of food. The good thing about coconut oil is it can be used to cook with.  I discovered that ordinary cut up fried potatoes is amazingly good when fried in coconut oil! It gives them a sweet taste along with adding a bit of salt. Its also great for stir frying veggies and other things as well.

Some of the ways I use it now are:

In a protein shake

To fry veggies

By the tablespoon in an emergency

Added to syrup for pancakes and waffles

Added to peanut butter and spread on toast

Small amount in a cup of green tea with a teaspoon of honey

Mixed into a bowl of cooked oatmeal

You can come up with your own as you experiment! There are other benefits to using this amazing oil and you can find some of them in one of the the article’s I found online 10 Proven Health Benefits of Coconut Oil . Please do your own research. You will be so glad you did!

Don’t Be a Doormat: Speak Your Truth To Someone

no-bullying-signs-rightJust recently I read another bloggers article about bullying. It is one of a few I have happened to see as of late. Clearly there is a theme going on lately. I’m not sure why this is but some women seem to believe it is powerful to overpower another woman and make them seem “less than”. Before you write this off as complaining, negative, or even petty, consider the people who have taken their own lives because of others unfeeling acts toward them. I wish I could take the time to look up the statistics for you but I don’t want to make this longer than it should be. Please do an online search on the subject if this peaks your interest.

I know what it feels like to be treated disrespectfully by other girls/women. I’ve had the experience in grammar school, middle school, high school, in the work place, and in the ministry.  For a long time I thought something was wrong with me. It took me awhile to come to the conclusion that it was not me who was the one who had something wrong with them. I’ve seen every tactic in the book. There is the “obvious backstab” when someone makes sure they are in a place you can hear or see them and then they will lean over and whisper into someone’s ear while looking right at you. Then with some planting of a few rumors it doubles the affect for sure. There is the obvious bully who will exert their aggression upon someone else in order to intimidate them into giving some sort of power over to the evil of another. Fear is a huge controller. If someone can get you into fear then they have a huge grip on your life. (Please pray against the spirit of fear. You have control of this in Christ Jesus!) We have what I call “the sympathizer” who will go to the person you love the most and try to gain their affections while trying to make you look like a total fool. This one is a sly one because they get you upset at what they do and then tell your loved one, “See, obviously she is out of control, emotionally unstable, ridiculously wrong, or completely petty”. There are more tactics but I think you get the point.

I think one of the more devastating ones for me was when a so called “friend” began to offer prayer requests concerning me in a church  prayer group. By the time I heard about them it was out of control, filled with a lot of partial truths, and out right lies. I walked out when I heard it preached over the pulpit. It took me a long time to get over that one. Please don’t take this as being judgmental or as trying to make others look bad. Someone has to talk about the hard stuff. I’m not trying to foster negativity. I’m trying to be educational, empowering, and hopefully a voice for some good change. Sometimes positive change happens when a tough stand is taken. We need those who are willing to open up the can of worms, and risk exposure of their stuff. Sometimes we can save someone a lot of heartache and sometimes we might even save their life. Since lives are important, then why not open the can of worms and sift through the soil?

When I was having a situation ongoing in grammar school I confided in my 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Hart. (Yes her name was Hart!) I was so distraught about what was going on. I was not sleeping well, was always upset, and was too shy to handle it myself. She looked at me and told me, “Don’t ever put up with something like that. Please come and tell me and I will take care of it”. Then she advised me to not be around that person and group she was playing with. Dang, I loved that woman! “Thank you Mrs. Hart”.

I wish I had the ability to handle it myself but at the time I did not. Mrs. Hart was my go-to person when I needed defense. We need that in our lives! Women, hear me. Please empower one another!

Whatever you do, don’t succumb to being a doormat by allowing others to walk all over you. Please speak your truth. If you can’t do this in a safe way, then find someone who will stand with you, or even many who will. If you see someone being treated unfairly ask first if they need help before stepping in. Not every situation is safe to intervene. Ask God for wisdom as to how to handle things. While you are mulling these things over, don’t ever feel bad for expressing yourself when something or someone is bothering you. It takes courage to swim against difficult waters. Don’t allow the water to overtake you. There are more people who care than you think!

(A huge thank you to those who have recently brought up this subject again. I love your voices and we all deserve to be heard!)

If you are being bullied or messed with by someone. Let me pray for you here:

Dear Lord, I ask for Your divine protection for my sister in need. Please comfort her, and show her how much she is loved. Send her those she can count on, confide in, and will give strength to her. Empower her with Your Holy Spirit and give her the wisdom and courage to handle the situation she finds herself in. Thank You Jesus for loving my sister, Your daughter, and created treasure.

Dear God, I proclaim the name and heart of our Lord Jesus Christ to cast out spirits of fear and intimidation. Dear Jesus, rise up and set a standard for Your people and bring change to the hearts of those who do evil to others. Thank You for loving us! Amen.

Bleed It Out My Dear

th0UQQ2EAJI don’t want to seem graphic here, but this is the truth; women know how to bleed. Our bodies have been created that way for obvious reasons; to have children. For us, bleeding and producing seem to go hand in hand. We are miracle makers and sometimes even world shakers! Lovable creatures that we are, we can also be profoundly ugly, especially when something or someone we love is threatened in some way. We are protective, territorial, and we love to be detectives and explore others lives and passions.

But, we do bleed, and it has its productive purpose. When we don’t we suffer. Literally. I bet at this point you are trying to figure out where I am going with this, right? Basically, I am joining the analogy with our emotional need to bleed out our “stuff”. Every now and then it is so important to dump all of the residue from the inside out in order to get clear on what is important in life. This is not only a suggestion for you my dear. It is necessary!

Let me explain.

When you allow your wounds to fester, and then let them be covered over with hardened scars, you allow bitter elements to come through into your life. You become the manifestation of the very thing that hurt you. If you don’t believe me, do some inventory. I guarantee you will find that this is the truth.

The solution?

Something I have often said, is we really need someone to listen to our hurts. This has to be someone we trust. On an even higher level, we need God to listen to our hurts. He is right there with you all of the time. No need to “conjure” Him up. Just acknowledge He is there and His presence will be easy to notice.

The amazing results are this.

The miraculous benefits of bleeding out your personal wounds is that they are opened up to allow those wounds the air they need to heal. Jesus has a spiritual bloodline that is so powerful and when we allow His bloodline to filter ours, bleeding out those wounds is so much easier than we could ever have imagined. In order to be productive we can not have those bitter issues coming through every thing our hands touch in this world. Our lives deserve more than that.

It’s very simple.

Just do the work, and ask God to help you though it. It might be a process, but it will be one with great rewards and will produce wonderful new fruit in your life!

With Love,
