Several years ago I was having a discussion with an old friend, Rev. Rhonda, about all of the things I love to try and how I seem to change from one thing to another. She giggled a bit at my confusion because to her this was completely normal. She told me, “Jenine, you are a renaissance person.” What this means is my creativity always has to be sparked and I create different things. I am curious, exploratory, and I am serious about everything I decide to explore. I might start something and then get attracted to something else. I need the stimulation of having many things going on at once. THIS is being a renaissance person.
The hardest thing is the struggle and confusion about how I define myself. I have several degrees, a few certifications, and have learned everything from medical, to spiritual, to psychological. Knowledge is my thing so to speak. With the knowledge, I create. For some reason I have to be creating a few things at a time.
If you are like this, don’t despair. There is nothing wrong with you and you are not giving up if you are working on one thing and then feel the shift to something else. You will eventually go back to the original thing you began and finish it. Or, you might choose to not finish something, and that is alright too! Whatever your style is, it is YOUR style. Don’t allow anyone to change you or try to make you feel bad about how you think or operate. You are a treasure to humanity. I will speak on behalf of everyone, “we love you dearly”, because you bring us such innovation that no other type of personality can!
Loving you from here,
Dr. Rev Jenine Marie Howry
