Sometimes the Best Wisdom Comes Out of Distress

Think back to the moments when your life seemed in the greatest distress. Just linger for a moment but set your sights on the most positive things that came from seemingly negative circumstances. Meditate on it or journal it if you need to. Stop when you come to a very positive life lesson you would never have thought of before or a moment of clarity that became an “aha” moment!

Consider a baby when it’s coming through the birth canal and the split second before it takes its first breath. The lights are bright, it seems like the breath is a struggle and then a huge intake of oxygen. It’s almost a gasp and then usually the baby cries like crazy. Can you imagine just for a second what the birth experience might feel like right then? It’s like all creation depends on that breath and there is a second in time when the breath is held. The struggle is real and yet as natural as can be.

There are moments in life that are like that, aren’t there? The distress is real and it feels like you can’t get enough air. We have been given a moment in time when it seems like our breath is being held and we wait for the next moment to take a huge inhale and then exhale. The situation might bring a lot of tears but the light is right there in your eyes. The light brings you clarity into a situation you might not have seen before. You are being birthed into a new facet of life or understanding of life.

Believe me, I know about those moments in life when it seems like the tears will never end. I’ve been there more than a time or two. I also know some of the best life lessons and life information are given to me during those moments when the darkest night seems to be looming over me and then suddenly a light appears. I find that moment I am gasping for air and then with the first breath, the most profound information is channeled into my life.

Many times miracles happen after having gone through the most horrific moments in life. It’s a great time for a miracle, isn’t it? Profound wisdom for life is gently inserted into those moments and if you look hard enough you will find them. Sometimes wisdom comes with guidance and sometimes just a profound truth never heard of before. These things might not have been discovered if not for the dark times in life. I’m sure it’s best to seek the truth out ahead of time. Let’s face it, as humans we don’t always do this! It takes a moment of distress and the struggle to catch our breath to awaken us to the light of truth for our lives and our next move forward a good portion of the time.

So, if life is feeding you lemons, I am not going to ask you to make lemonade. I am nudging you to find the wisdom within the struggle even when your heart feels like it will break beyond belief. You will find your ship; it will come in, and you will be even stronger and more wise than before!
