When it comes to “relationships”, let’s face it, they come along, and sometimes they just sail away. What people are really searching for is “connection”. We crave it as much as “acceptance”. Oh, it’s totally alright because it’s what we are all meant to do. It’s true, not everyone is our “cup of tea,” but that is alright as well. Tea time can only last so long. Some tea is consumed quickly until it’s done, and others are savored, enjoyed, loved, and so appreciated.
I remember my mother once said of me, I could never understand why people do the things they do and why they hurt one another so much. I do have the answer to my own feelings about personal connections. We are all different, just like different types of tea. Sometimes we mingle just right, because so much of who we are is the same as the ones we attract. Other connections are far too difficult because we are so unalike that we repel one another. It’s all chemistry, or I guess “not chemistry“. Or, differences of opinion, ways of living, aspirations, or just plain ideas.
The one thing I like to hold dear is the idea that once I feel love for someone or feel connected to them, I keep feeling love for them. Love can be in the universal way, the friendship way, the romantic way, or the unconditional God-inspired way. Either way, that love is in my soul. Talk to me, don’t talk to me, it’s all the same. Love will not change in my heart. I get hurt just like everyone else, and sometimes that hurt makes me RUN for the hills, but love is still there.
I don’t trick myself into thinking it will go away, because it won’t. I can tell myself it has, but believe me, it won’t. A person can think they want to connect with me for one reason, but discover it was for another. It’s all good. I will still love them. We can disconnect, not talk, be upset, want to trip one another on the pavement, and you guessed it, I will STILL LOVE YOU.
It’s the nature of the whole love scheme. We are people, and we just can’t help ourselves. Like it or not, we are stuck with one another, so we might as well just get used to it. Kid yourself if you like, love is always here for you and will always endure forever. It’s a “God thing”. The greatest love ever is inside of us all, and no matter what we do…it will always endure forever. If you are made from God, which you are, like me or not, you will love me, and the other way around!
