Negativity, just like positivity, has a current, a flow, an energy. It flows outside of you from others and it flows inside of you from yourself. Your thoughts create energy, either negative or positive. Thoughts are a part of the flow, and they are never ending. Just close your eyes for a moment and observe your thoughts. They are running like a faucet, right? The Bible says, “As a man (or woman) thinks so he/she is.” Like it or not, your thought life creates the life outside of yourself and the life you live. Your thoughts affect the outcome of situations, how you handle them, and your emotional responses to what is happening.
I want to focus on negativity and faith for a moment. Let’s keep in mind that situations happen. Not so great things happen in life. That is our reality right now. We become sad, upset, go through grief etc. This is part of being human. Some things just can’t be controlled, but our actions and how we react to them can. If negative thoughts are all you have to bring to the table at any given situation your faith will suffer. In fact, negativity and faith cannot coexist just as light and darkness can not. Getting through anything difficult without faith is hard. God wants you to have faith; faith in Him, faith in yourself, faith in the “powers that be”.
Think about a recent trial you have had to endure or even something you are enduring now. Consider negative thinking about the situation. Where does that put your faith? While thinking negatively can you find faith anywhere? You can certainly have assurance that bad things are going to happen. If this is the case then they will occur. Remember, thoughts create our lives and our being. Add in some positive thoughts now. What does that do with faith? Can you find some now? Do you see a positive outcome or even that you can act positively through it all?
Faith and positive current go together. flow together, and create good things together. Even in bad situations you can find a positive lesson that will guide and help you get through whatever you face. Positivity and faith will breed strength. It’s like working out a muscle to make it stronger. Try working on your positivity muscle and allow faith to flow into your life as a true north that guides you. Then follow that true north. God is real big on following a shining north star. Accept this guidance as a part of your own life. It just might lead to the birth of something new and valuable. I know it did in the case of the birth of Jesus. Can anything else be a stronger example or as beautiful?
