Have you ever asked yourself the question, “What is my purpose in life?” You do have one. We all do! This world would never be the same without you. Your purpose is as unique as the gifts you bring to the earthly and heavenly table. Consider this though; you are multi-faceted just like a diamond! In life you have been rubbed one way and then the other. Then you have been buffed and polished! Maybe some of you are going through most of this now, but I have to say, it won’t stop in this lifetime.
Each and every person on this earth not only has a purpose, but has multi-faceted gifts and capabilities. We have different interests and should love to explore them all! Let me give you an example:
I have been called to be a Pastor; a shepherd of God’s people. I am also gifted to help women heal emotionally and spiritually. I can preach a message. I can do a teaching. I can pray for deliverance and do it all in tongues and in English. I love creating things and I love writing, as you can see! I also love makeup, fashion, business, and expanding myself. I love creating publications (when I am not in school and have the time), and I adore counseling women who are going through difficult and transition times. I love education and I am a life long learner. I am a wife, a mother of grown children, and a grand mother! I’m also a sister to one sister from our family bloodline and to many in the Body of Christ.
I am sure in the time I have left in life there will be many other things I will be faceted to do and accomplish! My point is, we can do these things because Christ is in them wherever we go as long as we are in Christ! How can a Pastor have a business? In Christ! How can a counselor also have a church? In Christ! I think you get my point.
I have said all of this so that you will never put yourself in a box. A diamond is meant to be fashioned and then shown off for all to see! We often talk about not putting God in a box. I am hoping you will not put yourself there either! You were meant for more! God can help you balance it all. There is no reason an evangelist can not own a dress shop, or a prophet who could not also work in a grocery store. God wants us to use His spiritual gifts and our given creativity and talents as well. A multi-faceted person is a joyful one as long as you do it in Christ. A multi-faceted person is one who carries Christ in all situations to all people! Think of the possibilities!
I encourage you today to start treating life as something to explore just like new territory, because it is that way! How can you learn everything in this life you are here to discover if you don’t do many different things or have many interests?
Repeat: “I can do all things in Christ”!
