A Gentle Rest
In the quiet calm of the fading light,
Where shadows whisper, drifting from sight,
The weary heart finds solace, a gentle embrace,
In the arms of the Father, a sacred space.
When burdens grow heavy, and tears softly fall,
Remember His promise to cradle us all.
In the stillness of evening, let your spirit unwind,
Seek refuge in prayer, leave the chaos behind.
Close your eyes, take a breath, let the world drift away,
In the depths of your silence, let your worries sway.
Feel the warmth of His grace like a blanket of peace,
In meditation, find rest, let His mercies increase.
For in every heartbeat, there’s love ever near,
A divine invitation to release all your fear.
He whispers, “Believe, for I am your light,
In shadows of doubt, I will guide you to right.”
So, pause in the stillness, let nature’s song flow,
Embrace every moment, let your spirit grow.
For those who are weary, take heart and see,
In resting with God, you are truly free.
If you are like me right now, and just need rest and “restoration”, take the time with no apology. It’s alright to be overwhelmed and find the need to rest in the greatest love there is…God’s love.
Loving you from here,
Dr. Rev. Jenine Marie Howry
**When what you need is rest, let no harshness or criticism come to you, for you have God within and there is no other who can understand your weariness as much as God.
