Do You Lead With Your Heart or Your Head? How Do You Choose?

Every single day we are all bombarded with decisions. Sometimes we don’t even notice what they are. Our autopilot just kicks in and there we go, making new decisions every moment of every day. Even deeper we are faced with choices and loom up in front of us and then we find ourselves in a place where we need to decide. What you choose might be depending upon what leads you. Or, I should say, what part of you leads you. We all have that inner God part of us, that yearns to lead and then of course there is the rational part of us that always wants to contradict. We know what we might rationally want to choose but our hearts seems to beat to another drum. Ever experience this?

Depending on how you are led, your choices might be very different. Like I said, our hearts and our heads contradict. God choices and ego choices are almost at odds all of the time. So, what do you choose and what guides you? In order to determine what is going on in the choice department I like what I call the meditative or creative pause. This might sound kind of impressive, at least I think it does! Actually, it is just like the moment before creation. There is a pause. Right at the moment before choice we are standing at the doorway of the void. This is where God spoke everything into existence. First there was no form and there was the “void”. It sounds a bit esoteric but the void is simply a place where there is nothing and is just a hiccup before something is created. Before that creation there is a pause, a thought, and a choice.

So, how do you choose? While you are in the void, do you ask yourself what the heart or God decision would be instead of the ego decision? They can be polar opposites and usually are. I wonder how this world would have been created if God would have been filled with ego instead of love-spirit?  I shutter to even think, lol. Thought provoking. I will leave you with your thoughts.

The place inside you that feels void is only a place of new creation

The bible tells us just before God created things on the earth it was void, and darkness covered the face of the deep. Everything God does has order. When something is void it is a blank slate waiting to be written upon. We often feel a void inside of ourselves when seasons change, as life changes, or when things in life become reordered. It might seem very dark and difficult in deep places inside you but in reality it is a place waiting to be filled with new creation.

The answer to your void is not to the question, “how am I going to get through this darkness”, but “what new things am I going to create from this darkness?” If you keep looking into a dark space thinking about how dark it is, you will only keep seeing darkness. If you look and see all new and positive possibilities, you naturally will become inspired by God to create new things.

Today, what is possible in your life? What new things inspire you and where would you like to be? Place yourself there in your mind, heart, and spirit. Soon you will see how God works to create them to be so.

Establishing Yourself in the “Void”

JenineHowry2I was watching a movie the other night and one of the characters proclaimed, “I don’t know what is wrong with me, I feel so empty.” In the story line she was in transition. Her life had a pending new decision which meant letting go of all that is for soon what will be. In the mean time, her life was void, empty, seemingly stuck. I nodded as I listened to her mostly complain and cry. Drama will be drama. I understood her statement though. I think we have all been there. In “the void”.

The void is that place where we think is dark and empty. It seems that way when we are there. In truth, though, it’s a place filled with expectation and creation. Remember, God created from that which was void and made beautiful things. The void is a place of learning to let go of what was for what will be. It’s a place of utilizing our faith and imagination to create new things. Yes, it is also an exercise in patience!

The challenge here is becoming comfortable in that place of being “in between” things in life. Our first inclination is to “feel empty” like the character in the movie I was watching. Actually the void is filled with possibilities. Just think of having every opportunity to create anything you want while waiting for new things to happen in life. As you wave good bye to what will soon be past, you will be preparing to wave hello to your future! The void is a place of deep imagination and intuitive creativity. Can you think of what you really want in life and picture it so much that you actually FEEL it?

Close your eyes for a moment and picture something you really want for your life. Don’t open them again until you feel it will all your being. Feel the excitement, see the colors, and sense the newness of the future. This is the place of infinite possibilities! Are you excited for this place now? Smile, because you have every opportunity to create something beautiful while you are in between everything else.

Affirm this with me:

“I love this place that is filled with opportunity and creative genius! I can see all possibilities here and feel excited for my future!”
