The silence of the morning hours are the most precious moments I spend. It’s the time when I pray and meditate with God to connect with the pulse of creation and wisdom. In that silence this morning the message I heard was how powerful a person is while being a compassionate listener. To truly hear the heart of another with no condemnation or judgement is to be the greatest gift to this world.
Compassionate listening is to be silent while someone else speaks and truly hear the heart of that person. This is true of groups of people as well. We don’t have to agree to listen and hear. We don’t need to judge or even come to a conclusion, expression, or solution. Sometimes people just need to have someone listen and to be heard. When we listen to understand we become an ambassador who connects hearts instead of repelling them.
The greatest honor is to be trusted with the thoughts, ideas, and feelings of another. The greatest gift is to listen without judgement. It is in that context, in that moment, we become the greatest ambassador of love ever.
Today, take the time to meditate on who you are and what you have inside of yourself. So often we tend to live and adjust to what is on the outside instead of knowing the security of what is on the inside of us. Instead of allowing your emotions to be moved one way and then back the other, allow yourself to be anchored to God inside. Being anchored means to not be tossed around by every little thing that happens in life.
Let God be an anchor that holds you stable. The Bible tells us a double minded man/woman is unstable in all his/her ways. When a person is double minded they seek to please or act according to what, or who, is on the outside of them. When God is an internal achor there is no tossing. A foundation is built on the wisdom and maturity of walking in spirit and not according to physical experience.
Take some time to move inward and reflect on the stability of God’s nature. Intend to be anchored to the nature of God. It means to walk with integrity, God’s character and wisdom.
In our own section of this world we have relationships with different people and in different ways. Some are acquaintances, family, some life partners, some deep friendships, and some are just passing through. They all have value in learning about them and also about ourselves. The people we attract into our lives are those who teach us the most about ourselves inside and out. Sometimes they test us. Sometimes they help us to become better and more aware beings.
People speak to us how they value or do not value us as well. We can tell by the quality of time they spend with us. Notice how I did not say amount of time, but quality. We can spend very little time with someone and be deeply loved and involved with them. It’s all about heart connection and how deep we decide to go soulfully and expressively.
This coming week, take a look around you. Determine the place each valuable person has in your life. Ask for wisdom as to what that person is helping you to see about not just them, but yourself. Relationships help us evolve. Sometimes they hinder us and sometimes they help us move forward. It is up to us as to which of these someone is doing. If they are hindering, it is their issue to work on. Don’t mix up their issue with your own. Either you are in their life to give them a hand up or they are there to teach you not to stay stagnant in a place where you are not productive. Move onward!
Some relationships expand us. They are there to help us see our God given potential and they always want the best for us. Regardless of where they are in life, they are always moving us forward, encouraging us to be more, do more, expand more. These are treasures; earth angels, and blessings who have been planted there for our evolution and to achieve excellence. Hang around and soak up their wisdom!
Some are continual heart companions. Whether close in proximity or far away, they are those who have your heart in mind and share with you theirs. They are there in your life to help you process your own frustrations and grow in love and acceptance. They spark your creativity, help create inspiration, and allow you to be yourself in good times and in not so good times.
Consider your relationships this week, and determine what each one means to you and why they are there. Think along the lines of your inner growth, healing, or expansion. Journal if need be. Getting clarity on life helps to move forward in it.
Part of my doctoral study was interpretation of dreams. These mystical imaginings are much more important than you might realize. Did you know, if you don’t go into dream state, you can mentally break down? According to scientific research, its true! Dreams are THAT important. Also, they can reveal mystical insights into your life.
This week, pay attention to your dreams. Ask God to unlock the mysteries they hold for your life. Sometimes they present things you might not want to deal with. Ask for strength and wisdom to deal with your inner issues. Deep work, creates big results. If something is a part of you as a being, God made it so! Don’t forsake what messages your dreams might have for you. Write them down even if they don’t make sense. Insights will come when you least expect them to!
I love to wake up happy, don’t you? There is nothing better than a morning cup of coffee, some meditative time, and enjoying the sunrise. Appreciating the best things in life is one of the greatest keys to happiness. Love what you have, live what you love!
In the midst of just trying to get along with the rest of the world, there is always that gloomy negative person, or people. They happen. Somehow they just have not received the memo that the key to having more happiness in life is the appreciate it, be grateful for it, and give love instead of heartache.
Today, and this week, don’t allow negative people to rain on your parade! Love the life given to you and be in joy no matter what. Soak up the beauty of life like a sponge and not the negative junk that happens around you. God shines in you, so let all of that God love light shine stronger than any garbage the world wants to dump into your lap.
Sometimes it’s hard to think of giving honor to those who might be a whole lot less than honorable in their deeds. I believe if we all think back for a moment, we can each come up with a time when we were less than honorable. I could never credit a dishonoring act or action, but I do know I can honor the life of a person even if I can’t honor their deeds.
Today’s weekly wisdom took longer than it usually does for me. I’m a bit behind the grid. Today, set your intention to honor a life that you have felt has been less than honorable in deeds. Close your eyes and wrap love around the person. You don’t have to approve of their actions to love them as a human, and at a distance, if that is what is needed.
Your heart will grow in the process and love will enter in a different way. Intend to uphold love for that person the entire day if you can. You might not be able to honor the deeds or actions but you can honor life that God created. Within this action you heal yourself and you place healing into the world we live in.
Loving you from here,
Dr. Rev Jenine Marie Howry, PhD

It’s so hard when we see others get the things in life we want when we have waited such a long time. Patience is not always easy, but always worth it. If you are doing everything you can to make something happen and there is still a delay, then understand there is a good reason
Sometimes we receive something better than what we had in mind, or sometimes we grow during the waiting time. Often, there are things we choose and later find out that it never suited us to begin with. Maybe it’s a bad decision and God is saying “no”.
Trust your instincts, be patient, do all you can to achieve your desires, and let the powers that “be” help in the transformation. Have confidence that you have not been forgotten nor forsaken. Your turn will come and it will be better than you even expected!
We were all born into this world as a blank slate. What a miracle we truly are! Yet, we are taught and affected by the society around us all of the time. Our minds, hearts, souls, and lives, take on the reflection of a changed person. The depth of our personality and what we present back to the world can be drastically damaged by the negativity around us. We are never doomed though! That is the good news! We CAN rise above that negativity and decide to be a different mirror to those around us.
This very moment, YOU can do as Jesus did when He walked this earth. He rose above the negativity and discord of society as our example. You can do the same exact thing and BE the embodiment of God on this planet and to those around you! Jesus taught us to be meek, forgiving, loving, and move to the depth of ourselves.
Today, rise above the negative talk in your mind, heart, and those around you. Turn it around and be the embodiment of God’s love. You carry God within you. So be that for others and we will all have a world around us that rises above!
I was elated when my doctor once informed me that my heartbeat was right in sync with my breathing. To me, it was confirmation my meditative practice was working! Everything in life has a special balance. Where there is rhythm there is balance and harmony. When a choir or quartet is in harmony, they create a beautiful sound. When there is harmony in our lives and homes, we create a beautiful sound as well. It’s the sound of a life in order; an existence of peace.
Harmonious situations are when we are at our most creative. All of the things that stand in the way of God move out of the way, and our lives are filled with God’s love and light. A harmonious life is a healthy life. Remember, emotions out of whack, issues unresolved, life lived out of order with God, are things that create a lack of harmony. Our bodies feel that lack of harmony and respond accordingly. This creates disease. If you want to make a beautiful sound, reach for the rhythm that brings harmony in life.
Singing your song with you and loving you from here!
The night before last I had an amazing dream that put so many things in perspective for me. My dream challenged me to go back and consider all of the choices I have made in life, only leave out any bad things about them. I was only to consider what good came out of them. Then the question was asked, “Was it a good choice?” My answer was always YES! I went from marriage to employment to school, to moves I have made. You name it the dream brought me through it!
What I realized is I made GOOD choices throughout my whole life so far! Every choice brought me to the place I am now. I woke up with a happy joy. So often we focus so much on the bad things that have happened in life that we forget the great things about it! We “think” we have made bad choices because of those difficult situations. If you do this exercise you will realize that all of your choices brought you some great things in life and took you right to where you now are! If you are not happy where you are, think of the good things about it and be grateful. Gratitude is a powerful energy that brings more blessing in your life!
YES! You made good choices! I guarantee you did! Not everything felt good all of the time; but are we here to just feel good or are we here to also learn? Well, today you are learning that you are brilliant! Your choices have been amazing and you are amazing too!
Consider yourself always a rising star and count your blessings for all that you are and all you have come though!
