Part of my doctoral study was interpretation of dreams. These mystical imaginings are much more important than you might realize. Did you know, if you don’t go into dream state, you can mentally break down? According to scientific research, its true! Dreams are THAT important. Also, they can reveal mystical insights into your life.
This week, pay attention to your dreams. Ask God to unlock the mysteries they hold for your life. Sometimes they present things you might not want to deal with. Ask for strength and wisdom to deal with your inner issues. Deep work, creates big results. If something is a part of you as a being, God made it so! Don’t forsake what messages your dreams might have for you. Write them down even if they don’t make sense. Insights will come when you least expect them to!
Sometimes it’s hard to think of giving honor to those who might be a whole lot less than honorable in their deeds. I believe if we all think back for a moment, we can each come up with a time when we were less than honorable. I could never credit a dishonoring act or action, but I do know I can honor the life of a person even if I can’t honor their deeds.
Today’s weekly wisdom took longer than it usually does for me. I’m a bit behind the grid. Today, set your intention to honor a life that you have felt has been less than honorable in deeds. Close your eyes and wrap love around the person. You don’t have to approve of their actions to love them as a human, and at a distance, if that is what is needed.
Your heart will grow in the process and love will enter in a different way. Intend to uphold love for that person the entire day if you can. You might not be able to honor the deeds or actions but you can honor life that God created. Within this action you heal yourself and you place healing into the world we live in.
Loving you from here,
Dr. Rev Jenine Marie Howry, PhD

For some reason we are conditioned to expect our acknowledgement, and credit where credit is do, from others outside of us. I think it comes from a world which has the idea that we don’t have all we need from the inside out. It’s easy to look back and place blame on those who raised us for not giving us the “kudos” we always wish we had, but in spite of what we think we were lacking, those experiences have actually been teaching us to give those “kudos” to ourselves.
Yes, it is very nice and greatly appreciated when others appreciate us. We do need that, but when we don’t get it, we also should not die on the inside from feelings of lack. Today, take some time to close your eyes, put your hand on your heart, and give yourself the compliments you always have wanted and needed to hear. Remember, they are just as important coming from you than from anyone else. We live in a fast paced society where others have their minds filled with whatever life is throwing at them. Their occupied minds don’t mean they don’t appreciate you. Give them grace! Send yourself love and appreciation every single day, and believe me, you will attract the same automatically from others anyway. Let me give you a head start.
“You have done a great job in your life! You have weathered many storms and have still come out alright. You have a good heart, have contributed to this world and those around you. You are awesome!” (Repeat things like this in first person to yourself. It’s alright to give yourself some good vibes for being such a great person!)
I was elated when my doctor once informed me that my heartbeat was right in sync with my breathing. To me, it was confirmation my meditative practice was working! Everything in life has a special balance. Where there is rhythm there is balance and harmony. When a choir or quartet is in harmony, they create a beautiful sound. When there is harmony in our lives and homes, we create a beautiful sound as well. It’s the sound of a life in order; an existence of peace.
Harmonious situations are when we are at our most creative. All of the things that stand in the way of God move out of the way, and our lives are filled with God’s love and light. A harmonious life is a healthy life. Remember, emotions out of whack, issues unresolved, life lived out of order with God, are things that create a lack of harmony. Our bodies feel that lack of harmony and respond accordingly. This creates disease. If you want to make a beautiful sound, reach for the rhythm that brings harmony in life.
Singing your song with you and loving you from here!
The night before last I had an amazing dream that put so many things in perspective for me. My dream challenged me to go back and consider all of the choices I have made in life, only leave out any bad things about them. I was only to consider what good came out of them. Then the question was asked, “Was it a good choice?” My answer was always YES! I went from marriage to employment to school, to moves I have made. You name it the dream brought me through it!
What I realized is I made GOOD choices throughout my whole life so far! Every choice brought me to the place I am now. I woke up with a happy joy. So often we focus so much on the bad things that have happened in life that we forget the great things about it! We “think” we have made bad choices because of those difficult situations. If you do this exercise you will realize that all of your choices brought you some great things in life and took you right to where you now are! If you are not happy where you are, think of the good things about it and be grateful. Gratitude is a powerful energy that brings more blessing in your life!
YES! You made good choices! I guarantee you did! Not everything felt good all of the time; but are we here to just feel good or are we here to also learn? Well, today you are learning that you are brilliant! Your choices have been amazing and you are amazing too!
Consider yourself always a rising star and count your blessings for all that you are and all you have come though!
I’d like to print out a T-shirt that says, “Go ahead, TRY to distract me!” Then, of course, I’d like to be focused and not easily distracted from my task. I deeply admire the monks of Tibet. Can you imagine the dedication it takes to be a monk? The meditation. The solitude. The lifestyle without any of the modern things we often take for granted. What is it that they have that we often don’t? COMMITMENT! They have a stick to it like glue ‘tude that never stops.
Today, I challenge you to go back to something you were once passionate about and commit once again. That’s right! Get up and go for it one more time. But this time, don’t let yourself be distracted by other things that can wait or don’t matter. If you really want to make an impact, want results, want peace, want this or want that, you have to be committed and dedicated.
Affirm: I AM committed to completing the things I am passionate about. I WILL __________________ (fill in the blank)
Keep your eyes, and mind, on what matters and what is happening now.
I never felt such a release as the day I was advised that the past no longer even exists accept only in my head. It’s so true! Its a non existent element of our life experience that we hold inside of our brains, and the effect of emotions we hold in our souls/bodies. Think of this also: The future has not even been created yet. All you really have is NOW. A second a go is already the past and one second from now is already the future! NOW is what is real and what matters the most.
Close your eyes and release the issues that hold you stuck to a non existing past. Yes, it has affected you, and you will have to process what you have held onto. Once you do process it, then let it go for good. Just take the wisdom you gleaned from it and remember it no more. Of course look back at wonderful memories. Those are the things that give you and upload of Oxytocin in the brain that will cause you to feel good.
Don’t worry about what is about to happen. Plan for it, yes, but don’t worry. It’s fruitless to be concerned over something that has not even happened yet. Remember, the best is always yet to be. If you keep that in your mind to a heart level, then every experience will be the very best!
Sometimes it feels like there is no one listening to our hearts within the silence of a life going through transition. It can be lonely, hard, confusing, and sometimes chaotic. Almost every time we go through transition we feel a sense of abandonment. This is usually because our lives are shifting from one season to another. Some people can not be a part of the life we are destined to. Don’t fret when people want to leave. Let them! They can not go where you are going and will not stay or understand. Just open your hands and let them flow out of your life. If they are meant to be there, they will come back at another time.
Anything in excess, even the good things, are not a good idea if done out of balance. Life has an ebb and flow, just like the ocean, and balance like all things in nature. Birds know exactly when to fly south and exactly when to come back. If they stay too long where they go it disrupts the balance of nature. In the same respect, too much time spent on one thing in life deprives you and others of other special moments or things that must be done. Remember moderation when gifting yourself with a shopping spree, a special treat, or alone time. Even excess focus on God takes you too much out of the world and you will miss the reason you are here! Just know you take God with you everywhere you go.
You play an intricate part in the flow of life and all of life depends on you playing it well. Choose well, my dear, and all will be right with the world.
“When your eye is filled with light, your whole body is filled with light as well.” Jesus
Today, take in the Light of Life. Whatever is good, pure, joy filled, and love filled, suck it in like you have a straw from heaven. Your wholeness and health depend on what you take in . So make sure whatever you seek and look at in life is Light filled. Depression, sadness, and illness, can not live in any place filled with light. This includes seeing the best in those around you, in situations you encounter, and feeding your soul the best in spiritual food. Your health depends on it and you will be a lantern for others to follow.
