Characteristics of Love: Love is Not Self-Seeking

Not being self seeking can be confusing at first. On one hand we can not give of anything until we have it within ourselves. Being self assured, self giving, and providing self care are all good things. We do need to seek our healing, our inner light, and to seek out what is best in our lives. We give out of the overflow of what we have and who we are. We also self seek when we seek God to an extent. We seek to lose fear, define our lives, search out our purpose and expand our horizons. These are all great things and we should all do them!

I believe what the author is saying here is that love does not behave selfishly with an attitude of entitlement over the needs of others. It’s very different to be self loving from being selfish and self centered in an arrogant way. Arrogance is a form of pride that lords itself over others. The type of self seeking that love is not is the kind that says, “I deserve more than you because I am better than you are.” True love never sees anyone that way, but sees us all as equal even when we don’t all behave on the playground.

We might have different places we fill in business, in life, or in family, but we are all equal in God’s sight. To self seek is to seek without God, from ego and not through Spirit. God’s Spirit is Holy and there is nothing prideful or arrogant within the love that is held in God’s Holiness. Self seeking is also a state of division. It states that a person feels they are higher or above all others and therefore deserve preference over others. It denies the Oneness that Jesus prayed to “the Father” about.

When we are looking to embody true God-love we do not seek preference over others but see one another as equal. We understand that we are not completely whole without one another. Everyone is in a state of “becoming”, so not everyone will be on the same spiritual path as another. Jesus did not come to the earth to just visit so He could establish a set of people who would have it all and others would not. Truth says Jesus came for the whole world, to set people free, to show the way, to relieve us all of condemnation, to pour out grace, to teach healing, and point the way toward eternity. Jesus laid down His life for EVERY human being ever created and came to this planet. That means people who were before, who were then, and who were to be. Literally EVERYONE. Not just those who believe as He does but even those who do not believe at all. Jesus was and is the supreme example of love if we ever saw one. He displayed a love that was never self seeking; a love that laid itself down for those who needed it more.

Do you want to embody this kind of love? Its hard when our human side always will compete to interfere. I believe this comes from not being healed from past trauma. We only act and react poorly from our soul scars. When we are healed and clean from those things then God within us can become bigger and more profoundly present. Remember Peter in the bible? People were healed just walking into Peter’s shadow. Peter did not receive any special preference from God or special grace. Jesus said we all could do greater things than even He had. When He said, “all” he meant everyone. Only pure love and faith could be that profound as to heal others with just being present. Isn’t that the express image of God’s love?

Natural Anti-Aging Cacay Oil Has High Vitamin A (Retinol) and Skin Improving Properties!

61Ze-ux9ZgL._SL1500_Like many women (and men too!) I am always looking for products that are natural and can help reduce signs of aging on my face, neck, and other areas of my body. Many women turn to Retin-A, which is a prescription medication for facial wrinkles and aging skin. The issue is that Retin-A can be very harsh on the skin and actually burns and causes it to peel. Many who use Retin-A have to use small amounts at a time in order to  work up to the benefits and not cause a bad reaction.

Since I LOVE natural things I began to research what I can use for my face and neck that would not be as harsh on my skin. The idea is to improve skin, right? Then I learned about Cacay Oil and its natural ingredients that help aging skin. In fact out of all the oils that can be used such as sweet almond, rose oil, castor oil, or argon oil, Cacay has the highest amount of natural vitamin A, also called tretinoin. It is a retinoic acid that helps improve the signs of aging on skin. It also has high amounts of vitamin E which is great for fine lines and wrinkles.

One of the more fascinating affects of Cacay is its ability to improve the look of scars and stretch marks as well! It also gives a beautiful shiny and improved look to hair, hands, nails and will improve skin anywhere on the body. Cacay is now becoming the “go to” oil for improving aging skin. It is determined that improvement should be seen within 2-3 weeks. Every woman wants to improve the look of the skin on her neck. This oil is great for that as well!

I am going to give you a couple Amazon links. One is more higher priced and the other a bit lower. I would not go any lower than these because of the quality of the oil you are buying. The oil should last you SIX months just putting it on your face and neck. Only small amounts are used at a time but make sure you use it up within that time. Oils are not meant to be kept for long periods of time. Here are the two Amazon links!

Cacay Naturals Face Oil, 100% Cacay Oil. Best Anti Aging Oil for the Skin    Price $38.90  (This is the product I am trying )

Another option

Amazon In Out Cacay Oil, Anti Aging for Skin   Price $19.99

** I am an Amazon affiliate. Please consider using my links if you decide you want to purchase or try this product. If you have Amazon Prime you could receive free shipping as well! Thank you!

Give it a try and see for yourself! Let me know the results after a few weeks! I would love to see what the oil has done for your face and skin!

Amazing Uses for Bergamot Essential Oil

53e0a4ef-d6e3-4d8e-b743-a955249a7548_1.332a53354ca6769b85a31d0ae7051668These days it seems I am always looking for ways to naturally assist my body processes, contribute to better health, and overall ease in life. One very essential item I found I can not do without is Bergamot Essential Oil. This oil is extracted from a tree through cold pressing and has a delightful citrus type smell with maybe some spicy elements to it as well.

I first was attracted to Bergamot because it helps with depression and anxiety. Bergamot essential oil will stimulate production of serotonin and dopamine in the brain which are essential neurotransmitters we need. Without maintaining them we become depressed and also anxious. Whereas antidepressants work in order to maintain levels of serotonin and dopamine, Bergamot actually stimulates their production. All that is needed is to open the cap of the bottle and take a deep breath! Or it can be lightly defused into the air.

Bergamot can be added to tea in order to drink it. It can be combined with black tea or any herbal tea. In fact Earl Grey tea has Bergamot already in it! If you want the full effects of the essential oil its best to use drops of it or to inhale its effects. It can be mixed with a carrier oil such as olive oil, almond oil, or castor oil, in order to spread lightly onto the skin. It makes a good deodorant, kills bacteria on the body from sweating, and also can be used as a mouthwash in warm water to kill bacteria that causes bad breath.

It’s a very good relaxant and will relieve muscle spasms, pain due to sprains or any kind of body ache. Mix with a carrier oil and apply as a massage oil for pain relief. Other benefits:

Heals intestinal walls, stimulates bowel movements, prohibits gallstones, will kill worm infections, helps respiratory issues, will reduce inflammation, reduce fever, clear up scars, use as a facial or skin care component for clear skin, evens skin tone.

Please look up some of the combinations the oil can be used in order to find the right amount of essential oil and carrier oil in order to use effectively and safely. Remember, with essential oils a little goes a long way!

Personally, I like to drop some in warm tea, use with castor oil and spread on my skin to even skin tone and allow me to smell the aroma. I use it for depression, anxiety, and to induce a calm sleep. If you have muscle spasms in the back, have someone smooth some on in a massage oil to help with the spasms and drip some into your tea and relax!

I use this oil during meditative times to help relaxation and promote balance of emotions and stress.

****The image above is of the essential oil I purchase. You can get it on the Walmart.com website. The cost is usually about $9.97 and it ships FREE within a few days!

****Do not diffuse essential oils into the air where cats are living. Many essential oils are toxic to cats. If you have kitty fur friends, best that you use or diffuse where they are not going to be or do not diffuse into the air.

**** Always try essential oils in small amounts at first and consult a pharmacist for any drug interactions you might have. Used properly the benefits can be amazing!

Handling Difficult People

woman-yelling-5938034No doubt we live in a world that is filled with so many diverse people and personalities. In all honesty, this is what makes life worth living and exploring. We are “about” relationship. Without others there is no true evolution of our souls or healing of our scars. Keeping this in mind, there is one real truth that tends to bring grace, mercy, and understanding to the difficult personality.

Here it is. Are you ready? People act out of their own personal pain from the inside and they project it outward toward a person or situation that they feel is unfavorable. Usually it all comes out in anger or blame. Some people are consumed with their anger and resentment. Have you ever met the “perpetual walking bad mood”? They are difficult to say the least.

The real truth is, the walking bad mood has deep scars that create a vacuum or blockage for anything that resembles peace and harmony in life. They appear to just project their bad mood outward but what they really are doing is revealing their own personal pain. This might be on a very unconscious level, even unknown to them as to why they act or feel the way they do.

Do you know a person or people like this? Let me give you some insight as to how to deal with them. It’s more like how to “see” them. Their outer expressions are much more revealing than anyone truly thinks.

  1. First of all know and understand that people act out of their personal pain. Someone who is difficult to deal with most likely has an unconscious mind that is driving on auto pilot and they have no idea why they are as difficult as they are.
  2. See the God part within them. This is not as hard to do as it seems. Just believing we all were created in the image of God helps to reveal to us the great parts of difficult human beings
  3. See them through God’s eyes. You have God living within you. Consciously remind yourself that the part of you that inhabits God can look through your eyes and see spiritually, intuitively, and soulfully, the truth about any human being.
  4. Don’t return anger for anger. This only multiplies the anger that is already there. The Bible tells us that a soft answer will turn away wrath. This is truth. We can turn someone’s angry day into a better one just by being more positive and loving toward someone who is hard to be around.
  5. Know we all struggle. You struggle, I struggle, and everyone struggles. We all have soul scars from this life we have led and we all project them onto others whether we intend to or not. We are in this together. We all have been humanly flawed.
  6. Remember we carry God in our inner temple. We are now the temple of God who dwells within us and there is nothing more powerful than this truth in our lives. That power can be used anytime, anywhere, and with anyone. All you need is to believe and have faith in that power to heal and deal with another in order to do so.

Affirm: “I choose to see past the difficulty in other’s lives and actions, knowing we all struggle with them, and see the God part of each person. Because I know the truth about their actions and that God lives inside of all of us, I can be at peace with them. I have the power from God within me to overcome my own struggles and handle others as well. I see their expressions of difficulty and anger as the hurts that were formed inside of them as they have lived their lives. I wish and pray for them healing in the midst of the storms of life. I pray them healed and made whole. I choose to see their beauty and the treasure that they are no matter how difficult they become. What I focus on becomes bigger, so their beauty outshines any difficulty they might present.”

Ask God for the eyes of compassion in all things and you will know and understand how to handle any or all difficult issues with others.

Peacefully Yours,

Jenine Marie Howry
